Angel Tree Ministry
Making GOD Known
Each year at Christmas, we have the opportunity to share Christ's love by helping meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the families of prisoners through the Angel Tree Ministry, which is sponsored by Prison Fellowship International.
|
This year, Angel Tree Sunday is December TBA |
Angel Tree is designed to reach the innocent victims of crime who are often forgotten — the children of prisoners. Being separated from a parent at Christmas time is a painful experience. Angel Tree touches them with special Christmas gifts.
How Can You Participate? (TBA means to be announced.)
1. On Sunday, December TBA following the 8:30 & 11:00 A.M. Services, you may come to the Church Office Foyer and select a paper angel, which represents a child's gift request. Volunteers will be on hand to record the "angel" you adopt as well as answer any questions. If there are any "angels" remaining they will be available for adoption on Wednesday, December TBA from 5:00 - 6:00 P.M. in the Family Center.
After purchasing the gift, please return it to the Church Office no later than Friday, December TBA. Please DO NOT wrap the gift. Our GAs will wrap all the gifts as a service project again this year.
2. You may also donate funds to help provide an age appropriate Christian book to be given to each child as well as the "angel" gift.
Our volunteers will have already been in contact with the families about what gifts the children are requesting. Gifts will be delivered the week of December TBA. A card will be written by the prisoner to be presented along with the gift, assuring the children that mommy or daddy misses and loves them. Also, the real meaning of Christmas is shared with the children and their families.
Please pray for our volunteers, gift givers and recipients.
